Resolved Question: Voters: Do the following incidents and dates of occurrence seem odd to you? ?
OMNIBUS COUNTERTERRORISM ACT OF 1995–MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES (H. DOC. NO. 104-31) (House of Representatives - February 09, 1995)
http://www.fas.org/irp/congress/1995_cr/h950209-terror.htm

On April 19, 1995, around 9:03 a.m., just after parents dropped their children off at day care at the Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City, the unthinkable happened.

Further around the bend?

Jefferson and all the founders made one thing absolutely clear: Government will eventually resist any restraints against attainment of ever-greater powers.

If you’ve never served in the armed forces, you can’t understand the porosity of the veil between sanity and the alternative. Nor would you know how easily a drill instructor/drill sergeant can push any recruit over the edge, if he/she so intended.

My question should - for anyone with the gifts to distinguish - highlight just how identical the parties are and lead us to deeper questions such as: What possessed so many Americans to assume - even to be so absolutely certain - that there were significant differences between the parties?

…..

Robinson: An excellent answer. Thanks. I differ on one, key issue, though. Your clarity of facts isn’t a thing most Americans share. Propose a bill that rips away at our freedoms and, in ordinary circumstances, it will fail. In the shadows of tragedy, however, facts become as irrelevant as rights.

Robinson: an excellent retort.

Still, I’m in good company (Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Ronald Reagan) denying myself the simplistic luxury of trusting government. Any Government.

Power is inescapably prone to coalesce from those governed into the hands of governance. I dare say that, were I to hold office, my resolve would become as questionable to me as to those now in power.

As challenges face any legislature, the simplest and most obvious solutions are held at bay by individual liberties. If only they could expand their powers - and only a little - they could nip this or that in the bud.

Reality always sets in, though. Take away the right to face one’s accuser and, tho the risk of blatant abuses by a defendant’s attorney are silenced, if that defendant is, in fact, not guilty, the impact on jurors of seeing the accused stare unhindered into the eyes of the accuser is lost. Permit unwarranted searches…same thing.

Resolved Question: OKC and the new basketball team
I live in the heart of downtown OKC. I believe that we have deserved a pro franchise for awhile. So since I will obviously be biased, can anyone not from Seattle or OKC tell me what the big deal is with OKC having a NBA franchise.

Remeber when New Orleans had the Hornets before Katrina they were very poor at keeping attendance. We took the team in so they could still play ball and got their attendance up to #7. It would’ve been higher if they hadn’t played 3 games in New Orleans that year.

Seattle had poor attendance and were offered the chance to keep the team if a new arena and better facilities were built. They did not comply.

So please give me a good reason how OKC or Clay Bennett did something wrong. I will be open to any answer.
All answers are real good so far. For the people that don’t know this yet 15,000 Oklahomans ordered season tickets within one week of them going on sale.
