Open Question: Can someone tell me about life in Austin Texas?
I’m a single male, young professional in my early 30’s. I have been approached by a job opportunity in Austin. I have always wanted to live in a city such as Tulsa, or Wichita being from Oklahoma….Maybe even Oklahoma City. Can someone that has been to Austin and Tulsa/Wichita tell me about how the towns compare? Austin’s demographics look a lot like Tulsa to me, except it is a major college town. Resolved Question: where can i get cheap AFI tickets for Novemeber 3?
I would really really really love to go to an AFI concert and they’re coming to Tulsa November 3rd. I really wanna go but i can only find floor seat tickets for $240 at least. And i need 2 of them but i don’t have $500 just like that… So, does anyone know where i can get really cheap floor seat tickets?

@anna_banana25 Yeah OKC is over-rated. Tulsa is so much better. Better city, better concerts, better people. Better everything really.

Voting Question: What is wrong with the Westboro Baptist Church?
The Westboro Baptist Church is planning to protest the celebration of Rosh Hashana by members of OU Hillel this Friday from 3:30 to 4:30 at the University of Oklahoma. They will then stage three protests in OK City. My question is this: why the heck are they protesting the celebration of a Jewish holiday by a Jewish college organization? OU isn’t giving the students a holiday, class will continue as normal. The university is merely hosting the event. So how does this concern the WBC? Why do they insist on disrupting events that do not in the least concern them? What is this supposed to accomplish? If anyone could enlighten me, I would be grateful.
There is a counter protest planned, and I will most certainly be attending.

Resolved Question: Are you alarmed at the level of conservative violence & hatred?
Historically, when liberals gain power there is violence among conservatives at a grassroots level. In the Kennedy years the right-wing formed the Minute Men to protect against Russians. In the Carter years it was the Posse Comitatus. Bill Clinton saw six anti-abortion murders and the Oklahoma City bombings.

But throughout these events the conservatives were able to point at William F Buckley as the true voice of their party.

Today we have the white-supremacist cop, Richard Poplawski, who pledged allegiance to Alex Jones. Glen Beck recently profiled Jones and has promoted his theories.

Then there’s the murder of Dr. George Tiller who Bill O’Reilly called “Tiller the baby killer.” O’Reilly was forced to devote airtime to defending himself from the charge that his comments helped create an atmosphere in which Tiller’s assassin believed he was doing something heroic.

But who can conservatives point to today as the rational voice of their party? The violence of the right continues to grow, aided by some of the top-tier conservative personalities like Jones, Beck and O’Reilly.
